Public Meeting held for District 2 - September 2016

The Municipality of Chester hosted a third public meeting in District 2 regarding the “ReVision” Plan Review process. Two earlier meetings were held, in February 2015 and November 2015. A group of neighbours in the Mill Cove area requested this additional meeting to further discuss what is being proposed. This meeting was held on September 15th, 2016 at the Hubbards Fire Hall.

Most of District 2 area is currently designated “General Basic” in the current planning documents. While it is proposed that most of the area would remain like this, some areas that are more settled are proposed to be designated as “settlement” or “hamlet” areas where there would be a few more land use controls. These proposed planning areas were shown in map form at the meeting. These maps are provided here along with the text of a presentation given by staff.

The opinions stated at the meeting were collected by the meeting facilitators. Staff will use the information to report back to the Citizens Planning Advisory Committee, which is steering the process.

For more information on Plan Review, check the section in this web site, or contact the Community Development Department at 902-275-2599.
