Community Sustainability Planning for the District of Chester
Since 2007, Council has started a new planning program. A Steering Committee worked with consultants to prepare what is called an Integrated Community Sustainability Plan, or ICSP.
An ICSP is a strategic plan that identifies trends, issues, and opportunities, that recommends actions based on principles of sustainability. The focus is on environment, culture, economy and social needs. The final document was delivered to Council in May 2009.
Most recently, in February 2010, Council received a report on how to integrate actions recommended in the ICSP into the Municipal Budgets over the next 5 - 10 years. Please click here to review the Implementation Report.
