Efficiency Nova Scotia's Mercury Collection Program
Mercury is a toxic pollutant that can threaten our environment, wildlife and human health.
By recycling mercury containing products, we can help reduce the amount of mercury polluting our environment.
In conjunction with Efficiency Nova Scotia, the Municipality of Chester will be accepting mercury containing items at the Kaizer Meadow Environmental Management Centre, free of charge. To learn more about this program, please click here.
The Household Hazardous Waste Depot is located at Kaizer Meadow Environmental Management Centre. It is open to all residents of the Municipality during regular hours (Monday - Saturday, 8 A.M until 4 P.M.).
Many products we use are hazardous and should not be thrown in the garbage. They can be harmful to the waste collector when included in the regular stream of curbside waste. Kaizer Meadow gladly accepts all labelled, residential, household hazardous waste as long as it's in a non-leaking container.
