The Civic Address Coordinator issues civic numbers to all new buildings as part of the Building Permit process. It is also a requirement according to Civic Addressing By-Law #139.
It is important to have your civic address number plainly displayed on your house or at the end of your drive so that emergency services (such as ambulance or fire department personnel) can find you.
Civic address number signs are $10.00 each and can be ordered by contacting the Civic Address Coordinator, located in the Planning Department, at (902) 275-2599.
The Coordinator also maintains the maps showing all civic addresses and road names. Map books are also available to the public at a cost of $10.00 each.
