Every consolidation, of two or more pieces of land into one piece, also requires approval. There are very few exceptions to this one, as well. Please contact the Planning Department or your lawyer or surveyor.
Most subdivision approvals require a survey plan, but some can be done with a simpler document called an "instrument of subdivision". Your surveyor can prepare either document for you, and can guide you through the process.

Our processing time for ordinary applications is about 4 to 6 weeks.
Our processing fee for Subdivision applications is $200.00. You must file approved plans with the Registry of Deeds. The Registry's fee for filing approved plans changes from time to time, and the current fees are shown below as well as on the application form.
