Subdivision Approvals

Every division of land requires approval, even selling a few square feet to a neighbour. There are very few exceptions to this. Please call our office for advice, talk to your lawyer, or talk to your surveyor.

Every consolidation, of two or more pieces of land into one piece, also requires approval. There are very few exceptions to this one, as well. Please contact the Planning Department or your lawyer or surveyor.

Most subdivision approvals require a survey plan, but some can be done with a simpler document called an "instrument of subdivision". Your surveyor can prepare either document for you, and can guide you through the process.
