Council is making it a little easier for groups to access Canada 150 grant funding. Groups do not have to complete a Council Grant application form, instead, you may fill out a simple, one page form.
Canada 150 grant applications will be accepted anytime, however, the latest you may submit an application is October 31st. If you are planning a Canada Day event or another event in early summer, you should submit the application form soon so that Council can review and make decisions.
Please note – groups are eligible to apply for both a Canada 150 grant and a regular council grant. The Canada 150 grant is special funding and does not prevent you from applying for a Council grant. Reminder - the deadline for Council grants is October 31, 2017.

There are several avenues for financial support for recreation-based opportunties and initiatives.
Leadership Training Grant
A Leadership Training Grant is for those who are interested in participating in a course, workshop or camp to improve their leadership skills. The Grant is given with the expectation that the individual will use those skills in the community, teaching others. Call the Recreation & Parks Department at 902-275-3490 for an application.
PRO Kids Sponsorship
PRO Kids is a service dedicated to ensuring recreation opportunities exist for children and youth who would not ordinarily be able to afford the cost of participation. Click here to find out more about the program.
Recreation & Parks Grant
If you have not applied for a Council Grant, and you are a recreation-based, non-profit organization within the Municipality of Chester, you could be eligible for funding under this program. Click here to download the application form and criteria. The deadline is passed for 2014, and the new application will be posted in 2015.
Youth Sponsorship Grant
This Grant is for youth (up to 21 years of age) who have won their way and/or have been selected to attend a recognized sanctioned Provincial, National or International level event. Click here for the Policy (application form included).
You can also support PRO Kids by attending one of the many fundraisers held throughout the year, either by the Municipality of Chester or one of our many supporters.
