Doing Business in the Municipality

The Municipality of the District of Chester (MODC) has an excellent strategic location to attract investment opportunities. MODC borders Halifax Regional Municipality and is only 45 minutes from downtown Halifax. It is close to major activity within the Province, yet far enough away to offer a quaint relaxing atmosphere. The Provincial 100 series Highway 103 runs east/west through the entire District for easy access and a major transportation network to Halifax and the Halifax International Airport, which is only a one hour drive. High speed broadband internet is available through many communities and in most parts of rural MODC.

We are ideally located in the South Shore of Nova Scotia, in the East Coast of Canada, which is ideally positioned halfway between Europe and North America's West Coast. With only sixty minutes to the Port of Halifax and the North American rail network, we have easy access to the world!
