Laura is the community contact for Chester and CBC Information Morning, where she gives updates on what is happening currently in the Village. We always come out looking good and Laura’s enthusiasm is contagious. When she gets behind a project, she gets things done.

Currently, she is Co-Chair of the Starfish Refugee Project, donating countless hours to ensure that fundraising goals are met and that our refugee families have the support they need. She also sources and delivers furniture for the many marginalized families in our midst who are often newcomers struggling to survive. When soup kitchens were closed during COVID, Laura and her brother stepped up and started “Give us your lunch money,” where through small donations, they made thousands of sandwiches and sweets that fed soup kitchens and shelters. At the same time, she helped with media support for our Food Bank.

Currently, Laura serves on the boards of OHC, and the Chester and Lunenburg markets. She connects people in our community and befriends those who need support. She is a worthy ambassador for Chester and a tireless volunteer. We are very fortunate to have her in our midst.

Chester is a better place because Laura Mulrooney lives and volunteers here. She gives of herself generously and enriches all our lives when she helps the many marginalized people in our community find necessities of life. Her guidance and friendship are invaluable as she works tirelessly for those in need. She promotes health care and agriculture through her involvement with the Boards and promotes Chester as the community contact with CBC radio. She is a cherished ambassador for Chester.
