Equipment required for trail bridge work will now be on site THURSDAY. The trail bridge will be CLOSED on Thursday, July 31 instead of Wednesday, July 30. Thank you for your flexibility and patience.

The East River trail from the trailhead at Highway #3 in East River (en route to Castle Rock) will be CLOSED on July 30, 2025 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for immediate maintenance on the bridge. Trail users are asked to use the Goat Lake trail entrance as an alternative access point to Castle Rock while the bridge work is carried out (see map).
Equipment will be on site to remove spent blast grit from the scaffolding deck that accumulated during bridge rehabilitation, and the closure will be necessary during the process. We apologize for the short notice, but there is a short window of equipment availability.
Closure signs will be posted in all directions. Thank you for understanding!
